For your consideration is an absolutely gorgeous solid black (N4) opal from Lightning Ridge, Australia. This very special gem has been in my collection for more than a decade, and is a personal favorite. It features a big, bold pattern of extremely bright, (4.5/5) non-directional neon green and royal blue. The rectangluar cushion cut gem weighs 5.2 carats, but appears much larger.

It measures 19 mm long by 11 mm wide by 3 mm deep. 100% crack free, blemish-free face-up. There is a speck of clay on the back. This big, bold, brilliant gem will make an amazing ring for the gent who likes to make a powerful statement! Alternatively, it is large enough for a pendant. As ever, this is an untreated, ALL-NATURAL gemstone. PLEASE NOTE: you are looking at enlarged images of a small gemstone. Flaws or blemishes may not be visable to the naked eye! White lines or spots are reflections from the highly polished surface.
